もはや伝説として語り継がれている、大阪発世界レベルのアンダーグラウンドクラブ『MACAO』。 YABAI RECORDSが誕生し活動の拠点としてきたことからこの名を付けた第７段コンピレーションは、MACAOの独特の雰囲気を思い出すアンダーグラウンドな匂いと今のトランスをミックスさせたその名に相応しい内容に仕上がった。
私達が活動を始めた時から共に成長してきたYABAIを代表するアーティストToxicとWinter Demonによる渚音楽祭をイメージしたパワー溢れる楽曲に、MACAOで産まれ今や海外でも活躍するB-55の、クレイジーな上音にやられる楽曲。MACAOを想像させる雰囲気をかもし出し、YABAI RECORDSの大推薦アーティストMindcoreによる、経験に基づき緻密に計算されたピュアでダンサブルなサイケデリックトランスや、活動が今だ謎に包まれているAbsolum&C.P.U.による大御所ユニットSynergyの間違いないフロアーキラーも収録。また、サウスアフリカで誕生し徐々にヴェールを脱ぎ始めたサウスアフリカの若手二人Frozen GhostとHiyarantによるDirty Motionのクレイジーな中にも壮大なスケールを感じるアッパーな楽曲もMacaoの彩を豊かにしている。
今回は日本での初めてのプレイがMACAOだったアーティスト達からも楽曲を入手した。まず、世界的に注目を浴びているLOST&FOUNDによる「Mindcore - Adoration / YABCD-006 V.A.-Matsuri収録」をサウス節が炸裂したリミックス、同じくサウスアフリカのXatrikと謎のアーティストKID-Xによるヒューマンビートボックスをフューチャーしたユニークな曲、そしてこれから活動が目立つであろうWinter DemonによるAzaxSyndromのヒット曲のリミックス、そしてYABAI RECORDS初となるブラジル人アーティスト220Vの大阪のパーティーを題したパワー全開の楽曲の収録により、YABAIがイメージするMACAOの雰囲気を存分に表現できた。
今回のリリースで、MACAOを訪れたことのある人には思い出の一枚になり、またMACAOを体験したことのない人には是非手に取り大阪のトランスシーンをイメージしていただきたい。

This compilation of 9 dance floor annihilating tracks is the latest offering from one of Japanese leading labels ・Yabai Records. The name MACAO・lends itself from the world famous MACAO・club in Osaka Japan where Yabai Records originated from. This comp will give you a taste of what has made this club legendary as the tracks convey the peculiar experience and underground atmospehere of Macao. All the artists involved performed their debut Japanese set in the club so with that in mind the all star line-up includes fresh productions from Toxic, Winter Demon, B-55, Mindcore, Synergy, Lost&Found, 220V and Xatrik. The Mindcore and Synergy tracks especially transport the listener to the Macao dancefloor and convey a real sense of the club special vibe.
